You Know You're Old When.....
I have been noticing lately that Walmart has been playing a lot of music from my high school years, and it makes me wonder if this is now considered oldies music, whereas not too long ago it was just old skool music to me. So, what is the difference anyway??? Oldies music for me has always been music from any time before I was born, 1974, and I would hear this being played at stores over the intercom, such as Walmart. Old skool music for me is music from my youth, or in my head, it is the late 80s, early 90s, which by the way is the greatest time for music in my opinion. Anyways, imagine my surprise when I was contemplating which scent I should buy for my wax warmers when all of a sudden an 80s song comes on; and then another one, and then another one. What the heck has happened to the years, why are they going by so fast? Of course, I have to sing along, and the people around me and even in the next aisle over, have to hear me sing a verse or two. The funniest thing my kids have told me when we are at the store is, "Mom, they are playing the music that you listen to in your car." 😂 Well, regardless of how old I am getting, at least Walmart is playing better songs. I'm just not sure I feel about my music becoming the new oldies for my kids now #oldpeopleproblems
